Accessibility Shopping Day

Westmorland Shopping Centre celebrates this year’s UK flagship accessibility shopping day, Purple Tuesday

Purple Tuesday was launched by Purple, and is an international call to action, focused on changing the customer experience for disabled people. It is about creating a step change improvement in the awareness of the value and needs of disabled customers and making the customer experience accessible.

Nick Pitt, Westmorland Shopping Centre manager, said: “We’re so proud to celebrate Purple Tuesday and recognise the importance and needs of shoppers with disabilities.

“We want all our shoppers to enjoy visiting Westmorland Shopping Centre, that’s why we’ve done all we can to make their experience the best it can be. We offer disabled toilet facilities, baby changing facilities, access to lifts and promote Kendal and South Lakes Shop mobility scheme which is located on level three of the car park.”

We will continue to support shoppers with disabilities throughout the year and ensure sustainable changes are made.”
